Hi,
I really like your board, but it is so geared to rock, jazz, etc., and no real highlighting of classical guitar. I truly appreciate the modules being taught by Chris, but there are also other people in the classical section that don't look like they even belong there, or is it just filler?

Anyway, thanks for the great month, and you guys should consider a section on the history of guitar, rock, etc.. I bet it would draw some serious attention.:)

If you're into history of guitar and its music, especially rock and blues, scroll down on the Forum page to "Newsletter." In my time here there has been some outstanding essays on just that...history of the music, the musicians and their instruments. Immensely enjoyable and educational.

As for musicians (or anyone) 'looking the part'...

;)

I think the other lessons in the classical section are there because they are either classical pieces or use classical technique. Not that they are strict classical in every sense, but that is the best possible category for them.

Thanks for checking us out! Best of success with your guitar playing. :)

Hi KCPippin
Here a site you might want to check out
http://dirk.meineke.free.fr/modern.html
It has free sheet music with tabs.
The tunes are also playable.
Good luck with your classical learning.

Hey KC, we'd be sorry to see you go. John is right, We do have some great articles on the history of guitar in our newsletters. Here's a direct link:

But not a bad idea to have them all in one place. Hope you stick around a while!

Best,

Thanks Chris. Think I'm going to hang out a bit and play with the scales and arpeggios for a while.
Are you planning on posting any of the more complicated pieces in classical? I just came across "Moonlight Sonata," but I'm still playing around with it. Talk about stretching fingers!

Yes, I've arranged & am currently practicing an advanced version of "Fur Elise" & the "Pathetique" from Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8.

I plan on filming them soon this fall. I can't promise when they will be published, but they are in the pipeline! Have fun with scales & arpeggios. :)
