This site is great. Started playing in '65, then continually played in a bunch of Rock and Roll bands until '74 when I got hijacked/sidetracked into Philadelphia College of Art, and graduated with a BFA majoring in painting.

http://www.alsnyder.org

Unknowingly sold off my creative soul doing commercial artwork and a whole lot of other non creative (but better paying) jobs to support my beautiful wife and my two (now adult) children.

The line "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" just about covers it for me. This is my second chance. And I am eternally grateful to God for it.

Wow, what a great post! We're glad to have you, Al. And you'll find a lot of other people in these forums are in the same boat as you, i.e. starting guitar lessons later in life.

Enjoy!

Thanks. It's great to know there are other 'seasoned' students as well. I'm glad to be here, and am looking forward to a long and fruitful collaboration at Guitar Tricks.

Hi Neal,
I'm sure that there's loads of knowledge in the collective pool here that's just waiting to be learned. Thanks for the kind words about my self portrait!
