Im 16 and been playing guitar since last september.
Recently me and my cousin who plays bass are interested in setting up a band. So I start messing about with the guitar and I try to make up riffs etc....
After not getting anywhere I start looking around sites on the net for advice.
Then I hear a lot about chord progressions. Can somebody explain what they are and possibly give an example.

Thanks,
Kyle

A chord progression is just a few chords (or as many as u like) in a progression to form a melody, from there you can create lead riffs and solo's and all sorts. Puttin 3 chords together is a very popular number. I like G D n C. Or Am Em n G, I used G quite a lot, but just have a mess around puttin some chords together n you got a progression.
