I play lots of chromatic scale patterns in bursts and if I know what I'll do on the stage sweeps for example I play a lot of sweeps.. Basically I do the stuff I know I must play,or like to play..

Before I go into a gig, session our whatever, I start with streching my hands and gettin hot blood flow. It takes me about 3-4 minutes wich mean that I basiclly don´t touch my guitar.

Than I start with playn´ these guitar solos: Civil War and Estranged. (I don´t know why. It´s just somthing I´m stucked in and I like it especially with some Wah).

After I play some stuff to get my right hand into speed shape by playng stuff like this:

e--1-0-0-0-2-0-0-0-3-0-0-0-4-0-0-0...cont till 15 fret. After that i play Eddies famous lick from Eruption wich includes fast alternate picking over all six strings.

When I´m ready with that, I usualy throw in some Metallica/Maiden and more Guns solos. After that I do some scale runs such as 3-notes per string and chromatic scale and than my friend when I´m ready with all that, I´m ready to ROCK.

All this takes me about 15 min.

PS, about those Petrucci stuff. I also own Rock Discipline but I never do those streches because it really hurts and than feels really strange. I´m sure they are good but not for me. But all those streches Petrucci does before is pretty similiar to my.

This is also answer for your warm up tread as well.

If anyone got some suggestions, let me know.
