I'm new to this site, basically just a matter of about a week or so. I don't normally post on forums. But decided why not.

Anyway, I'm coming up on 40 here very soon and decided that it was time to pick up a new hobby. I'm working on a very isolate location with very limited activities, so it seemed that this was a perfect hobby to get into.

I did have a guitar when I was growing up, but never took anytime to learn it, so now as my body is set in it's ways it's going to be an even bigger challenge for me to learn now. But being as I've got plenty of time and limited distractions, I think I should be able to.

Hi,
Sounds like the perfect environment to play guitar. I am up to my ears in distractions over here and a little jealous.

Keep us posted!

Thank you all for the welcome, I'm enjoying the tutorials so far. It has definitely been something that has managed to take up my time which is what I was wanting.

you can do it. Guitar is great because you CAN do it all by yourself and you don't need weights, a course, other people, etc. It is a great activity and you'll always be able to do it unlike other "hobbies." I'm not much older than you but I've made more progress on guitar in the last few years than the previous 10. It's really weird. Anyway, you are definitely not too old. I don't think anyone EVER gets too old.

Rock on!
