wireless guitar systems
What wireless guitar systems would you recommend for a guy playing in a rock band and sings and wants to move around?

Only one type worth considering - Line6 G50 or G90 if you have a rack system. Absolutely nothing else comes even close

The G30 has a transmitter in a plastic housing. The G50 is worth the extra coin unless you're just playing at home. The G50 and 90 body packs are the same and they are much nicer - metal and built to last.
I posted a detailed evaluation of the units here, hope it helps. ;)

I was recently reading a lot of reviews, thinking I might go wireless. Line 6 came way up on top. They apparently have some proprietary technology no one else has caught up with.
I did read one review that turned me off wireless for now, that being the heavy battery consumption.

...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Early in my research I read that wireless systems all suffer sound degradation as compared to being hooked-up to the amp. Is that or is that not true?
"It takes a lot of devotion and work, or maybe I should say play, because if you love it, that's what it amounts to. I haven't found any shortcuts, and I've been looking for a long time."

That has been argued for years.
Listen to both and decide for yourself. ;)
There are so many variables in a signal chain... I'd love to do a blind test with a cable and a Line 6 G50 and see if somebody could really tell. I'd bet lunch they can't. :D

Rock solid... crystal clear... idiot proof... batteries last FOREVER. You cannot go wrong with this product... I bought a "B" unit (scratch and dent/demo) that was PRISTINE and good as new... for $299 (AMS) with warranty, delivered. No tech savvy needed... plug and go.
Only thing I changed was the plug into the guitar...I went to Radio Shack and for under $4 I had a low profile flat L plug put on...nearly invisible and no plug to snag on anything... SWEET.
You WILL LOVE this product... Line6 aced it!

I was wondering if any of you out there have ever tried the little Chinese wireless called JOYO ? It's all over e-bay for about $80. 2.4G, re-chargeable.
I know it's probably not a stage worthy piece but I wonder if it would be OK for hacks, like me, to get some cords off the man cave floor?
If anyone's tried it I'd appreciate your thoughts on it. Thanks

Man I bought one of the old AKG units....I still have it. But I bought a G50 and could not be happier. They just dropped the price on them.... Buy one, be happy. :D
