Just outta curiousity does any use a bottle neck any more?
I've had one for a couple o years n never really used it. Not until a week or so ago, n the sound they make is really really cool. I forgot they sounded so cool. So I'm usin it quite a lot at the moment.
Just wonderin if any o you guys use em, coz they don't seem very popular at the moment.

I also really enjoy playing with a slide. I like to use a lot of reverb and/or delay to acheive some really spacey sounds. I want to get a crappy guitar and set it up specifically for slide: raise the strings, pickups, etc. That way I could play better . . . :-) [w/o buzzing as much]
I am glad to see someone else still enjoys slide guitar.

Just my 2cents ;-)

Danny Gatton, the late, great, country picker...some called it red-neck jazz....he used to play slide with an open beer bottle....holding it over the top of the neck and letting the beer slosh all over...then for the finale, he would finish his solo with a rag over his hand while he wiped of his neck.....

I highly recommend checking him out!
