My name is Hank, just bought my first guitar at a local music shop. I wasn't sure where to start, but the young man at the shop recommend the Ibanez IVJ 50 jampack and to check out this site for great lessons that would fit into my schedule. I'm not as young as I once was... But at age 50 I'm finally getting to start doing something I have always wanted to do....Learn to play guitar.. Wish me luck....Hank..

Hey Hank,
Welcome to Guitar Tricks.
This is the place to learn guitar..
About your Ibanez IVJ 50 jampack that you inquired about in your other post, I can't say how good it will be. I have tried a few inexpensive guitars that felt and sounded good.
It may be amazing or a dud. Hopefully it the one to get you started. When you get a few scales and chord down and maybe a tune or two you will be able to assess what your looking for in a more expensive guitar. If the Ibanez passes the test but you still want an up grade you can save it for a beater. If you know a player who can check it out for any flaws have them give you an appraisel..
Good Luck and enjoy the trip..
Gordon

PS, would you happen to be a Tobt Kieth fan..
