New to the forum. Just wondering what are the best guitars for women? Light weight, slimline guitar, body fit? Saw Luna and Daisy Rock online and wondered what you thought about them. Do you have other suggestions for an acoustic electric guitar?

Thanks!

Hi biscuitmaker11,

Welcome to Guitar Tricks!

Those are all considerations but I think the guitar that feels most comfortable to you is important: how your hands feel holding the guitar, is it comfortable to reach around the neck to play chords? Does the body feel to bulky? If you're near a music store it would be worth it to go try a few out.

I've played Daisy Rock guitars and they're not bad for a starter guitar. I haven't tried Luna's but they look like nice guitars. Our instructor Lisa McCormick loves her Epiphone acoustic and Caren Armstrong loves her Martin. I'm a fan of both Takamine and Yamaha acoustics and both companies make affordable models.

Hope this helps a bit!

Hi Lady,

Great question. I would stay away from 'dreadnaughts' as they are pretty big and bulky.

I love my Epiphone, yes, and also my Taylor 812. Taylors are in a higher price range but I would look at the size of the 812 and use that as a guide to picking something out for yourself.

Keep us posted!
