I've been playing guitar for about 2 years, and I'm at the point where I do nothing but play guitar. I play in a band, we gig about once a month. I'm looking for a nice tube amp, 50 watts, or about that, hopefully under $1000, and the lower the price the better, I don't have a lot of money to spend.

I was looking along the lines of a Mesa Boogie Nomad 55, but I heard that they've got zero reliablity (tubes breaking constantly, transformers blowing, the amp itself blowing up). has anyone here had these problems?

I play mostly bluesy rock and roll, but I play a wide variety of stuff, so I'm looking for some versatility
reverb and channel switching wouldn't hurt.

OK, so I'm Canadian. I happen to believe that the Traynor YCV40 from Yorkville Sound is the best bang for the buck.

And I hope I don't have to get into another long rant about how you can't hear the difference in loudnes between 40 Watts and 50 Watts.

I heard that the mesa boogy amps are the best amps you can get. My teacher says you can get any sound of them while all the other brands are limited..
However most of the players use marshall tube amps so i guess he might be wrong.
Im getting tubed too this year, but i guess my choice is fender hot rod deluxe

Musician's Friend has a "Trace Elliot Tramp Combo" on sale for $459.99. List is $699.00. I believe it's English made? It's a 65 watt RMS combo. Three channel valve preamp. Effects loop. Three spring reverb. One Celestion 12 inch Silver Series speaker. Anyone know anything about these amps. Seems like it might be a good deal at that price??
