I would just like to share some thoughts about the site.

I'm a recently expired member and have been torn about renewing my subscription.
For the most part I like the lessons and despite some real classics being missing from the songs section there is a good selection. Of course after my first year, I've already checked out the songs that really interested me.

However one thing I've noticed is how it's a bit of a ghost town on these forums. The main thing that keeps me going back to other guitar websites I visit (daily) is the community and interaction with other players on forums and that's something I found really lacking here.

I can't help but notice the forums here are kind of weird. Threads seem to vanish after a period of time and there's often a very short first page with only half a dozen (if that) discussions listed in each section which doesn't really inspire much involvement.

I guess what I'm saying is I come to this site when I'm in the mood to check out a lesson etc, but I go elsewhere for guitar community and interaction. I really recommend maybe updating the forum software and trying to encourage the use of the forums here as I think it could help take GT to the next level.

I'm new here (1 month) and I have to say that the forums do seem to be less lively than I expected. They do seem active though.

There are a LOT of threads and sub-forums. Each day when I click on "new posts", there are at least a full page of new posts from across all of the forums. So there is activity. If you click into each forum, I can see how you would get the impression that it's dead here, but overall there is a decent amount of activity.

There is a setting that controls how far back in time you will see threads from. By changing this on Control Panel, threads shouldn't disappear on you.
