Hiyas all. Just wanna post a little intoduction.

Started guitar very recently. I have a nice little Squier Strat Affinity and Ibanez practice amp to play around with but I'm clueless. Thus I find myself cruising your boards and various site lessons trying to get this thing going. So far having a blast :)

Anyways don't let the name fool ya I'm more of a "RarelyRude" but that doesn't have quite the same ring :p

I'm 31, Married, No kids (which is why I can sit a practice all day when not working), Ex-Navy (subs), and I love to sing. Singing is why I am finally getting off my duff to learn guitar.

Anyways thanks for taking the time to read this and you'll be seeing me around.

Welcome aboard! We'll help you out as best we can.

My uncle was an engineer on a sub many many years ago.

Pony: I was what people in the Navy called a "snipe." Mechanic types that live in the dark places others feared to tread. I was "A-Gang" the worst of the snipe-types :p For awhile I was also in Bremerton. In fact that was my ending tour.

Benoit: No saluting me. I still have my gonads. It's officers that get saluted.

And thanks for the warm welcome all.

Peace...

Now you're reminding me of my best friend who's enlisted in the Army:

"I work for a living, DON'T CALL ME SIR!"

My oldest student is 55, and he starts out, and he wants to play music from his youth, Jimi HENDRIX, pretty cool huh? (He tells me about his acid trips, that's pretty freaky)

It's ironic that children have plenty of time to play the guitar, but lack the discipline required...and adults (some adults) have the discipline, but lack the time required...cruel...

I was 15, I walked up to a musician and told him: "aren't you afraid not to have a stable job?" and he answered "dude, tell me a job that's stable nowadays, I'd rather do one that I love..."
And that's the day I decided I would do that for a living... And that gave me discipline...

I'm actually writing this in my new house, and it feels great!!
I'm still in the middle of unpacking things, but I love the feeling I have to be at 'home'...
