Song Writing

Hi Folks, I am a youthful 56 year old woman living in Calgary, Alberta. I have played the guitar for 45 years. Have written a song about a dog. Would like to write more.
I am interested in writing different parts that can be recorded on top of each other.
I have a Takamine Jumbo 12 string with pick up, and a Martin D 1 R six string.
Looking forward to learning more.. and more... and more...
My parents were both highly trained classical musicians but I like jazz and folk.
This is a great place to learn. I really appreciate it.
