when is a free guitar not free?

I renewed my sub early because of the free guitar offer. the guitar arrived and is pretty good for what it is,however beware........I'm in the UK and the authorities kidnapped my free guitar and then sent me a ransome note for £27 (US$ 44) by way of import duties. Compared to the retail price of the guitar ( $150-200 ?) this is a bargain but I woud have renewed my sub anyway and if this guitar had been offered as "FREE GUITAR (BUT BEWARE THAT YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY IMPORT DUTIES IN THE RECEIVING COUNTRY) then I definitely would not have bothered renewing early and I would have refused the offer.

No doubt others will feel the same.

So be sure to "read the missing small print" before deciding.

You should also mention the $60+ delivery charge which cause me to strongly consider not going for the offer as it has now cost in excess of $100 for the free gift. That said the site has been worth every penny and it feels like quite a nice guitar from a beginners perspective.

We were really sorry to hear about this. We have been shipping DVDs overseas without problems, and this caught us off guard. We will definitely work on fixing this if we do a similar promotion in future.
