I'm a lefty that has been trying to play righty for 8 months. It doesn't feel natural and my right wrist was severely reconstructed after a motorcycle accident 10 years ago so I don't have good strumming technique with my right hand. My instructor and I agree that I might do better left handed so I'm starting over from scratch as a lefty. Is there any advice anyone of you can give me to help me with this transition?
I'm sorry to hear about your motorcycle accident. I'm also a lefty who's been trying to play righthanded guitar and found it awful. Fortunately I only tried to play righthanded for about three weeks before I switched back to the 'right' choice for me.
My advice is just to take things slowly. Never try to do things faster than you can unless you get it 100% right. Otherwise you may try to do wrong things fast and you start to develop incorrect habits.
