I recently did alot of research on electrics so I could get started. Depending on your level of cash and experience you may wanna differ from what I did but I finally settled on a Squier Strat Affinity. Plays realy nice but not being experienced I can't really be a great judge. Working great for me right now. The only problem I have is large hands and long fingers. The neck is slim on this thing and I cramp alot. I'm praying eventually this will stop as my hand gets more used to the positions.

I'm also finding Tabs confusing when it comes to taps, pulls, bends and hammers. I can't really do any of that yet so I'm sticking with the scales and modes tabs that are simpler to play and try to train my fingers to move more fluidly and my picking to become more consistent. I figure once I do that I'll be able to move more easily into Tabs for specific songs.

BTW...Glad I'm not Slashers neighbor :p
