Hey can someone tell me what video editing app I can use to produce split screen music videos like GuitarTricks do in some of their lessons with rythym guitar on one part of the screen and the lead guitar on another? I know Adobe Premier will do it but it's too expensive. Since I don't know much about video editing, I would like to start out cheap until I learn the ropes a little. I've Googled it and found some instruction using Windows Movie Maker but all those tutorials must have been using a different version of WMM because the interface didn't look anything like mine and I don't see how my version (latest) can possibly do it. I've also tried a couple of the other apps that were suggested but nothing worked on my Windows based system.

Ive uploaded 2 covers on youtube where i play 2 guitars, so splitscreen is necessary!! id say just use imovie if you have it: the cool thing is that you can also make "picture in picture" and adjust the size and effect of your second video
