Hello all,

For some reason I have the bug to start picking up the guitar again. At 45 and not having played for so long I'm having some reservations. Should I be doing this at all. Will this be a waste of time, etc.

I decided to give it a shot. Bought a new Acoustic Guitar (Seagul S6 Original). Should be getting that soon.

I will have to relearn everything. Hopefully it goes well. I plan to try the free membership lessons, then sign up for full access.

When I was younger guitarists that I was into include: Steve Howe, Steve Morse, Allan Holdsworth, Steve Vai to name just a few.

Hopefully if all goes well I'll be playing "Clap" in no time. Just Kidding that would be a lofty goal.

Best and I'll let you know how it goes.

So I stopped playing from age 35 until age 56. Picked up guitar again 5 years ago (now 61), took finger picking lessons from a local old timer and I'm having a "blast" since then. Man, just do it. You will remember all the old stuff you knew. Only hurdle is getting the callouses again. So much personal pleasure every day just playing for myself and friends. Can't think of a better way to relax and spend a few hours each day. Do it, you won't regret it 6 months from now.
