I just wanted some thoughts from you guys here on how I have gone about learning, the order I've done things in, if my thoughts were valid, and at what point maybe I should really start learning songs and writing my own hopefully in your opinion. I know just 5 songs I think currently. (Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Dylan, Beatles, and Bad Moon Rising CCR, easy songs) I've done the core learning system, so Guitar Fundamentals 1 & 2, then I did up to the end Rock Course 1, and then I did Blues Course 1(at that point I figured if Rock came from Blues, then I want to get good at blues, and plus I love the blues!) My thoughts were only good would come from getting quite good at blues first. Then I did Country Course 1 almost to the end (I was listening to some Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, my taste in music is VERY broad), and now I have been back at doing Blues Course 2, (again with the thought why not get pretty good at blues guitar first, it should only help me with other styles down the road, good thought on my part?) and am now to where Anders gives you insight into the Three Kings Styles. I dont really see myself just playing one style, cuz I would love to solo guitar and sing like Johnny and Bob, but also I love to ROCK out too. So I guess I just wanted to know what your thoughts were on how I have gone about it, and if getting really good at blues will help me with the other styles I end up learning too. THANK YOU! Oh and also I played drums on my own for years when I was younger and am currently still playing percussion, so I got rhythm! I think that helped quite a bit. THANKS
Thoughts on the order I chose for learning
Hi guys! First I want to thank everyone at guitartricks, your amazing! I picked up a guitar not knowing a single thing, about a year ago. I didn't even know what frets were or anything like that. I've only been using guitartricks to learn and I think it has really done a lot for me, I don't really know how good I am, but I sure enjoy it.

Seems good to me :) I also think that getting good at blues with help you since its the root of many styles. What I did when I started here was fundementals 1 & 2, then blues 1 & 2 and the rock 1 & 2. After that I felt very confident and started to tackle songs.
