David
I like these guitars..my friend Steve Wariner has a signature Tak that is awesome...
There are several factors that determine how it sounds plugged in...
First, if you plug it into an electric guitar amp- not so good
If you plug it into a PA-better
If you plug it into a PA with a preamp-BEST

At any rate, you should plug in and try it for yourself

Take it with you to your local Guitar store and demo a amp. They can help you with what kind of amp and if ther is a prob with the pick up they will have someone there to fix it. I have a Taka G series that is my first Accu. guitar. It is a solid place to start and if you look around you will see big name people useing them on stage.

I have a Tak EG463SC. Most of the time I play unplugged but recently strafed plugging in and using a Zoom A2 Acoustic effects pedal running through a Crate RFX 65 Retofex amp. Found some nice settings and it sounds amazing!
