Yeah you won't need to get an amp with the acoustic at least, but it's not hard to find acoustics for $4000. :) Koa wood from Hawaii etc. and so on...

I have bought most of my guitars used, which is definitely something to consider. Electrics escpecially don't seem to change much over the years at all, and if so, mostly for the better!
