I'm sure most of what you learned on the trumpet will come back to you in one way or another once you start exploring the guitar.

The fundamentals of guitar playing is pretty much the same whether you play an acoustic or electric, so pick the one that interests you the most. When you get into lead playing there are some techniques that are more useful on electric guitar and vice versa (like wild bending, tapping etc.).

I started on the acoustic, then switched to electric because I wanted to learn every Hendrix song. Now I try to give both the same amount of time!
