what style do you use to play your guitar i have tried with plex i have tried doing the fingers style but i like to just use my thumb to strum the cords is this bad?
i seem to be doing ok but will this style be ok?

then Yes, this is fine.
If you are quite new to playing i SUGGEST that you play in the way that the book or your teacher says you should, until you have mastered basic timing and chords- at least.
Some songs and riffs are difficult to play correctly without using a pick .. but for your own style.. of course use what you are comfortable with. :)
