From your experience with the clssical guitar, you should know that nothing happens quickly. It will take time, practice, and patience to get results.
Just play it, enjoy it, and let your love of the instrument keep you enthusiastic.

I've heard that you can sell your soul to the devil for wicked guitar ability, but it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I'd just keep practicing, you should feel lucky that you have 2 hours a day to play. I just started and believe me, it goes real slow when you only got an hour or so every other day :(

Depends on HOW you are practicing. Especially when learning to play an instrument. You need to learn how to learn - sounds a bit strange, but it isnt. You can practice 6 hours a day and not improve anything if u practice wrong. And if you have a good plan you can practice 1 hour per day and it is more than enough.

are you under preasure? did u promise to play an e-guitar concert next week? Chill - dont be afraid of failing - cuz THAT makes you fail

Azrael is right when he says that you need to "learn how to learn". Study yourself and what you want to achieve with this instrument, and work out a practice plan to achieve it.
A thoughtfull and pragmatic practice routine WILL produce results. But remember to have fun! Designate a portion of your practice time for jamming or just messing around, and then get down to business. Do your excercises and what not as if its math homework, very structured and disciplined. And once you're done them, take a fifteen minute break and just have fun. Then back to excercises.
Obviously that's just a suggestion. You need to find out YOUR perfect practice schedule, tailored only for you and designed to get you where you want in terms of playing the guitar.

1. Get guitar( beg, borrow, buy)
2. Play guitar often, try to learn something
3. Repeat step 2 daily
