Hi GT tech,
I have recently bought a secondhand mint cond. De Armond M75t Silver sparkle guitar with a bigsby style tremelo and wonderful De Armond pickups as used on the very early Gretsch guitars named Dynasonic pickups. I am not sure if you are familiar with this guitar.
My question is however when I got the guitar it had been strung with 9's now I usually use 10's but would you recommend using heavier strings 11 or 12's even to help tuning stability. I have read that Gretsch initially advocated using a wound 'G' string is this true.
The guitar does play nicely however but the tuning can be slight problem do you think the heavier strings would help also in trying to get that rockabilly sound.

Hey Fairway8..
I read earlier today the Steve White would be out of pocket for a few days. But would be back asap..
You might want to repost in his forum, as this posting here may get lost before he gets back. Steves forum is at "ASK A GUITAR TECH" ..
Good luck
Gordon
