From picking to hammer on/pull offs
Having trouble picking up on the hammer on pull off methods. Im in a rut with not understanding how the fingering works and getting the correct timing from hammer on to my most difficult to get pull offs. I cant get the same volume or speed on the fingers working a basic penatonic scale, pull offs especially feel wrong so I resort to alternate picking and Im stuck there. Any advice to help me figure this out? thanks

start very slow. think of each movement of a hammer on in two parts. 1 being the pick hand and 2 being the fret hand. 1-2 1-2 1-2 1-2. start off counting something like this 1..2..1..2..1..2..1..2..1..2 and work your way up to 12.12.12.12.12.12.12. starting slow and building speed is the best way to ensure that you're concentrating on the proper movements and getting the most accuracy.
try practicing with your stronger fingers first to get the right sound... then work on your weaker fingers (pinky and ring finger) to gain the strenght and speed.

Looking at several tutorials, and using your counting on the hammer ons, when moving from 1st string to second, second to third, my technique tends to move to fast off of the note, what is going on in the sequence that makes the notes sound even between strings so you dont lose the tempo. I tend to make triplets for example on a 4/4 beat and it throws off the sequence even when Im following GT practice on hammerons and pull offs. Thank you for your previous response, that did help on the hammer on side of my licks.
