Hello all!

Really considering joining GT however just a question.

I saw some previews of Guitar Fundamentals 1 & 2 However he is always using an electric guitar. Will this still be ok for an acoustic guitarist because that's what I wish to learn.

For example power chords is in the fundamentals. Thats more of an electric thing is it not?

Thanks :-)

Ya everything in the videos can be applied to accoustic. Power chords are also used with accoustic guitars.

Not sure why you think that. "Power" doesn't mean like electric power. It's just the name of the chord. You can use power chords on any type of guitar.

Maybe I should of made my post clearer. I know what a power chord is but I was just very curious that during the fundamentals 1 and 2 he used an electric guitar. Will be signing up soon to crack on with the fundamentals on acoustic. Seems like a good bunch of people on here too :-)

Hello Twist!! ;)

I would say yes it is okay for Acoustic because Guitar Fundamentals branches out into Rock, Blues & Country style music, levels 1 & 2, after the basics.

You could always leave a message for Lisa McCormick, who specialises in Acoustic :)

Christopher Schlegel is also a very helpful, experienced instructor, too! He certainly knows a great deal about a variety of instruments.

Good luck finding what you're searching for.

Hi Axeman

Thank you for your reply. I am a full member now! I skipped Fundamentals 1 as I know this already but straight onto the scales on Fundamentals 2 this is what I need to learn and the lessons seem great so far!

Even though I am on acoustic I will want to play Rock/Blues seems like alot of content will cover this which is great!

It seems your question/concern has been answered but I just want to throw in my confirming 2-cents. :)

Although I got an electric three months before I finished Guitar Fundamentals, I played an acoustic all the way through levels 1 and 2 (the theory being the acoustic made me 'work' more). Once I started the next level of the Core Learning System I decided to try two tracks at once. In my morning practice session I do the "Country Style" set of tutorials and in my afternoon practice session I do the "Blues Style" set. In the morning I play the acoustic, in the afternoon I play the electric. Stuff like finger exercises, scales/CAGED-patterns, chord progressions and song accompaniment I split between the two guitars/practice sessions.

And it's a blast! :D
