i am just a beginner and i dont supposed you could give me any advice on what the best way to tune my guitar is, with out an electric tuner... i find that i can hear the different sounds and when i play, its sounds fine, but certain strings that i am hitting with my pick, just dont sound right... i am making my own song with the chords that i have learnt, but its just when i need to tune the guitar, its trick to get it just right...

... dont suppose theres any advice you could give me thanks :)

Why would you not just get a tuner?

Depends what kind and what price range you're looking at. I have a Turbo Tuner, but that will set you back about $130. Just go to a local guitar center and have a look around at something in your price range. Can't go wrong with anything by Korg really. Whether it's their $70 pitch black tuner, or the cheaper $20 ones.

Either you want a pedal, or just something you can plug into for practice use. For a beginner, that's all you really need. don't need to spend more than $25. A little more if you want it to have a metronome built in.

I use a blue snark - very easy to use and clips on the end of the head stock.
