My name is Maria, I have one stratocaster and a telecaster. They are both great but, the telecaster sounds like its better for blues then the other. I love them both but I just dont understand why they are different in body but most of all in Sound.. I know that no guitare is the same but as a new guitare player I picked up the differents right away and so did my G/F. Now we play them together and wow!Three out of four sound alike but my fourth one stands way out with sound and she is louder.. Does anyone know why or how??? I will not sell or give them up. Just want info on why the big deep sounding guitar. Has to be something??? thank you, Maria4

Hi Maria,
Welcome to Guitar Tricks

1 Maybe the type of wood they are made of
2 Maybe the strings you use
3 Maybe the the pick-ups or pick up settings
4 Assuming two people are playing, they are connected to two amps.

There are lots of variables in a guitar.
Fenders are made in several locations and parts quality is different in price range.

Basicly there are so many different models and style because players want a different sound.
I hope this gives you a little understanding of sound differences.

i think thats the million dollar question, it can be due to a lot of reasons i think, the age of the guitar, the pick ups and probably the wood.

When i hit my second puberty at 50 i went looking for a guitar, must have tried a few dozen some new some not so new, and i always came back to the one i have now which to me sounds better than any of the others i tried, even a brand new fender.

Its nothing fancy but what it is, is a 20+ years old Hohner l59 professional, which i believe was just a run of the mill mass produced guitar back in the 80's,this one is mint condition with all the original bits on it and sound totally sweet. So all i can think to why it sounds better than the others is the age.
