I've been playing off and on for a long time...more off than on..(another 53yr old). I consider myself an "advanced beginner". I've played by ear all my life and decided that just wasn't enough.
I've searched several sites and methods and Guitar Tricks looks like it will fit my needs the best. The free lessons and video's on the site have already helped jump start my playing again. Thanks and I'm looking forward to learning more....

Davyr6

You must be my evil twin.

Bought my first guitar at the age of 16 and after a short 38 years of playing never progressed past the advanced beginners stage myself.

Thanks to this site and the economy, (layed off with plenty of time to play), my guitar playing has greatly improved.

Take care and keep playing.

The Amatuer.

There are a bunch of us out there if you start looking through the threads. "The 50 + bunch". Reading your post it all seems so familiar....The good thing is we haven't given up and decided to get better...I can do without the lay off thing though.. :)

Take care....
