Is it a chip in the paint, or in the actual wood of the guitar? It sounds pretty deep if you are considering making a woodchip paste. I've got the odd chip in my strat's paint job, and while I would prefer them not to be there, I figure it's a bigger hassle to get them fixed than is really worth it. Is it entirely necessary to have a perfect looking guitar, because eventually guitars just get a bit worn.
