I have an Epiphone LP, its black and the outline isnt white, is more like cream or something.

Can the outline be painted white? if yes is it expensive?

That 'outline' is a strip of plastic called 'binding' Gibson/Epiphone is proud of their cream-coloured binding because it looks 'vintage'. You could apply white paint over it, but any guitar tech who saw it would probably start to cry.

The body can be painted if you strip it, but the binding is another matter, as Lordathestrings says. I don't know if it's possible to replace the binding, but that would be your best bet, as knowing how the paint is likely to look over the plastic it will probably look a lot worse than having fluro pink binding.

yep.. you can, acrylic paints used for paiting models and figurines can pretty much paint on any normal surface.. just clean it... you want to go down to airplane/ warhammer / car model shops, and have a look there... and ask, they usually do some painting them selves
now, whether you want to do that is a wholly different matter... and I would ask a guitar tech... cos i think you can change bindings (for a fairly small fee, in the double figures and no more i should think)... but ask for your self.
Good luck

Yes the binding can be painted, but the first time it gets smacked a good one, you'll have a cream colored chip, best bet is learn to enjoy the cream color
