At this point, (49 7/12), that date looms close indeed!

YOU DONT KNOW WHO BLUR ARE???
"WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO... when i feel heavey metal... WOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHOOOOO"
do that rign a bell? That's song 2, it was supoused to have been really popular across the pond... although they do have some brillaint stuff that's not sooo thrashy and rabid... 13 was a pretty damn ace album..
have a listen to them if you haven't heard of them before.. "tender" is something you might like...

yes and no... their early albums (like "lesiure" and "moder life is rubbish") weren't very consistent they had some great songs... but some really duff ones..
Check out "She's so high" (this sounds suspiciously like something by ride, but it's still good), "Tender", "Beetle bum", "Bugman", "PARK LIFE"... and one or two others if you've got time... it's pretty good...
(i'm still surprised to find a 14 year old who's turned his back on pop, and is really into "greatful dead")

*cringes*... oh god, you should have heard thier stuff when they were under the name "symore"... absoloutly dredd full..
I like "she's so high"... the other song is "this is the low"... and "end of the centuary" (is that what it's proper name is?)... but songs like "steroetype" crap, utter crap.. really realy dont like it...
Was "music is my radar" on the album? or was it just a single release?
Graham coxen is pretty damn good guitarist though.. I mean for a poncey southern fairy pop band, he's ok... OH YEAH!!!!! "POP SCENE", that's a GREAT SONG!! with a wonderful baseline.. but shame about the cheesey trumpets..
anyhoo how did you get into blur? I though americans were just into drop D Rock ballads (LOL... that's a joke)..
You listen to any "my bloody valentine" stuff?

I got Radiohead, but I kinda knew what I was doing (and I knew I wanted Radiohead coz I like them). Of course, there is a very easy way to get Oasis, guess what replies are theirs.... He he, I think I prefer being seen as an Oasis bandmember, so p*ss off all of you you f***ing w*nkers... he he, so aggressive.

Dumb, but feasable.

As for dropped tuning bands... Well, it seems that most tune down extreamly low to sound heavier. Soundgarden is one of the darkest sounding bands I can think of (take "Like Suicide" or "Fourth of July" for instance), and they at the lowest tuned to D. Maybe C# (if they happend to be down half a step allready). The only other band I listen to that detunes a lot is Scisorfight; they're down to A, but end up sounding kinda funky and grooving... still heavy, but it's not the tuning that does it, it's the riff.

I myself tend to stick to standard. EADG or BEADG dependin on which bass I'm using.

drop A tuning! I get it now, they play with 7 strings right? and just drop A tune the B string... aren't they starting to really creep into the bass player's frequencies at this point?
