They played it on the radio this morning.
Different.. It's different. Not what I was expecting. Yes, it's Van Halen. It does not sound like "Jump" at all.. But, do you recall the first time you heard it? You were like, wow... That is different, not what I was expecting. That's kinda like what Tattoo was for me.

Dave sounded like Dave... An older Dave, but Dave non the less.
Eddie sounded sharp and rippn' as always.
Wolfgang did a damn good job on bass. I was impressed. (Still want Mike)
Alex was Alex. Good as always.

I wish I could say I was blown away, but I can't. The song will grow on me I'm sure and being the die hard VH fan that I am, I'm sure I will buy the CD when it's available.

Ya I got it a couple days ago and have listened to it a few times. I like what Eddie does on the guitar (as usual), but the overall song seems.....lacking. After all this time I expected them to come out swinging with something a lot stronger.

With Eddies controlling nature, I kind of doubt that Wolf was allowed to record the bass. Most likely it was Eddie on the recording as he has done in the past. Never know though.

It definitely does grow on you however. After a few listens I realized that it was a catchy tune, no doubt, but something "catchy" isn't as difficult to write as something "amazing" like I'd expect form VH.

Yeah, I think I liked it...
I don't usually like "movie" songs (Girl with the dragon tattoo). it is a little "pop" feeling but definately Eddies guitar work seemed to make the song better, gave it that "van halen" sound and more "rock" like.

you know what else....old rock bands getting back together, I think, should give us hope that old wounds do heal and you can get back together and move on :D maybe there is hope for our country yet :)
:D

Bumping to point out they are releasing "previews" of other songs. So far I like "China Town" better than the others. "Stay Frosty" has an "Ice Cream Man" sort of feel to it with the whole acoustic thing.

EDIT: Actually I just found this website that has a preview of EVERY song on the new album

Might be other sites with it, but I'm too lazy to look right now
