Hey Guys I've attached a picture of my internet speed, I don't understand why videos take 5mins to load up, is it me or is the site slow? Any help would be much appreciated! :)

I'm unable to load any of the lesson or song videos on my computer. I submitted a help email. Maybe the site is down for now?? Hope it gets fixed soon!

It could be where your from and the connection to the site. Run a ping against this website and let me know your results. All most speedtest sites do is run the test against a server closest to you so that you can get the best speed.

An example, I'm from Scotland, UK. If I run a speed test against any UK server I get 50MBPS down and 5MBPS up and a 45MS ping. If I run it to a random East Coast server (NY) I get 30 Down and still 5 up but I get a 97MS ping. This would mean I would have a second of lag between clicking and loading.

Running a ping on this site and I get 130MS Ping, which means it takes 1.3 seconds between me clicking, the site receiving it and me getting the result.

And I'm trying to keep this as simple as I can, I don't know your IT experience so hopefully it makes sense.

To run a ping, open up command prompt (Start, Run, type CMD, press enter. Or if on Vista/7, search for CMD and click it). Type without quotes "Ping guitartricks.com" and then post the output here and I'll let you know what it means :-)

Hi Everyone

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with videos on
our site, and will be happy to help.

Are you encountering this issue site-wide, or just on certain videos? If
it just occurs on specific videos, please send them to us so we can test
them on our end.

If you are having trouble with all videos, please try these two simple
tests and tell me the results? These tests will help us figure out where
the problem is and how to fix it.

*[1]* Try using a different browser. Does that help or do you have trouble
with videos on that browser as well?

*[2]* Try a different computer. Does that help or do you have trouble with
videos on that computer as well?

Let us know, and we will be happy to help further.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us.

Personally for me, I've tried a different browser and a different computer and getting the same problem. I cannot load any of the lesson or song videos. Some of the introductory videos work however, but seems like the vast majority of videos do not work for me on either computer. Example: Guitar fundamentals 1 intro video works for me, but the lessons do not. Such as "what a pick is and how to use it" and all the other lessons. Thanks.

I have experienced it with everything, site wide. Nothing that has a video of any kind attatched to it will load. It just brings up a white screen. I did not check the GT Channel, however. None of the Artist Studies or the song turorials are working.

I just want to add that I have tried to access the lessons etc. on three different computers with different browsers with the same result. I hope any of this information helps.

Hi everybody,
Sorry about the trouble.

We introduced a new player and it looks like it isn't working for some people.

I just switched things so the old player shows and you have the option to select the new player.

Please try this lesson and let me know?

http://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=18080

And please tell me your browser and OS version so we can document what
works and what doesn't?

Thanks,

Jon

Thanks Jon, I tried your link and it doesn't work for the new player, but when I switched it to the old player it works fine and seems to work for all the other videos. I'm using Windows Internet Explorer but not sure what version. I'm happy that it is at least working for me now. Thanks!

Heya. I have no problems loading HD youtube videos and other streaming videos. I used Google Chrome for this it loaded the new player but still I watched the loading bar crawl and it was the same for the old player. On IE the new player wouldn't load at all, the older player did but still loaded very slowly.

I'm running Windows 7 64Bit Ultimate

(I live in Australia)

Cheers Tom

Hi Thomas,
I have heard from the server people that (for technical reasons I don't quite understand) there can be particular problems with supporting people from Australia.

Please use our contact form to alert customer support, and they will have you run some tests that should help us fix your problem.

Please use the old player for now, that should simplify things.

Hi Tom,
They sent me your ticket, and I sent it back to them telling them to how to proceed. They should send you some test tools now. Please stick with it, I think we can fix it, and we can only fix it with help from someone "on the ground" in the place where the problem is.

I am out for the weekend, but I think they will be able to get you straightened out before I get back.
