I would like a live instructor once a week to guide me on this site. Does anyone know how I would go about this.

I don't think GT offers that kind of service, but Jon or someone else from GT may elaborate. In the meantime, I'd offer these suggestions:

-first, try the forum... state what problem or challenge you're needing help with in the appropriate category, and you'll find that there will be plenty of people who will try to help you out.

-as a full member, you have access to the instructor forums. If you're working on a lesson and something isn't clear or you need help, feel free to ask them any questions you may have. They are busy, and get lots of requests, but they will get back to you eventually and they really do care about helping you reach your goal.

-if you've got clear goals set for yourself, are finding the information you're needing in the lessons on the site, but are still having problems with specific things, then look into taking some lessons with a reputable guitar instructor.
Sometimes just having a person who knows, right there in front of you can make all the difference in the world. However, BE SELECTIVE in your choice of instructor. Anyone can call themselves a "guitar teacher" and just because they are an accomplished player does not make them a good teacher. What I like about the lessons on this site is that they are well-planned and thought out, the material is there in TAB for you to follow, and you can watch, pause, rewind & re-watch to your hearts content... your instructor never has a "bad day"... also, all of the instructors here are reputable & offer top-notch lessons. So with that in mind, maybe you can find someone locally that would be willing to help you out now and then with specific goals that have in conjunction with this site. A good instructor should be perfectly willing to help you with material you're working on here.

Hope this helps... let us know what you're working on and how its going!
