Sorry, I had to say something...

the last GUY that said Hi got about three posts. We're up to three pages. Would this have anything to do with Polythene Pam being a girls ;)

I guess we should do something to get a more even distribution of boys and girls in here, don't ya think?

Anyway, always nice to see new faces. Welcome and keep us posted about your new band.

Benoit,I think it has everything to do with her being a girl.
There's something,imho,very inherently sexy about a girl who plays guitar.Abd I think this response(which Benoit was quick to point out-Benoit,what got you interested?)proves right.Some.
And pam, WELLCOME.The guys,and the few girls here are aaight.
You been singing for 12 years,have cd?I envy you.
I coul say it,but i figure you already figured that playing guitar,unlike piano,hates fingers.Hurts them at first,you cant keep long nails(women usually do)....
And bardsley is right.She was one up on most peolple here.
She has ten on me.
And it's not a good feeling.

What got me interrested, you ask?

Lets just say think of a women that plays the guitar reminds me of someone. Let's leave it at that...

I also find a little something special when I see a women play the guitar.

I don't think we scared anybody off;it's not like this is some smoky snooker room and all the dudes with long beards and broken brown yellow teeth smoking fat cigars and downing gin or whateva are closing in around you or something.They do this on a computer from the comfort of their homes,probably with their husbands/boyfriends/lovers whateva with their arms around them,and maybe those hands arent doing anything guitar like:D
Anyway,how long do you think it takes to check all the old threads and stuff.They'll be around,that's my bet.

Hi guys...I was not scared off. I just had a heck of a few weeks not much internet time. I am gonna try to answer some of the stuff I just read. I think it is cool for girls to play guitar too. I never really felt like a real musician just being a singer. I do now that I play guitar. As for my fingers. I have been playing long enough that they dont hurt anymore. And as far as long nails I am actually quite glad to have a good reason not to have to bother with all that long girly fingernail stuff anymore. OH hey I have a question for you guys. Have any of you heard of Dar Williams? I just learned on of her songs and it is really good. Oh yeah and by the way...I am not from Philly, I am from Harrisburg...

Hey, glad to see you're back.

I hear Dar Williams' stuff every so often on the radio. Not really my thing, but it doesn't bother me or I'd have all sorts of venomous adjictives frothing into my brain by now.

Gotta agree with ya Poly when ya said you didn't feel like a real muscian as just a singer.

I've never done anything professional but I sing ALOT. I always have tunes in my head going over and over and over. Some of my own but most stuff I've heard. Sometimes I think if I could just turn off all that background music in my brain I could be the next Einstein..hehe. But seriously the thing that always kept me from seeking any gigs or bands to play with was the feeling that I was just a hack and not a real muscian no matter how well I could sing.

Now I'm gonna learn this darn guitar even if it kills me!! It = Wife. :p

The people around here are nice people generally speaking,not the type that would put a girl off.
