I joined GuitarTricks a few weeks ago, and have found it a wonderfully useful site, so far. I paid for full access, and have since recommended it to several friends.

My only complaint is that I like to use the resource on my tablet computer, and the idiotic facebook/twitter bar on the right side of the screen is a floating module, that moves into the main area of the viewing area if the screen resolution is not wide enough to keep it in its place. What this does, for me, is place the toolbar directly over the lesson videos (sometimes the bar floats "under" the other screen modules, but it chooses to float "over" the video module.

I wrote a message to the support staff, the day I joined, but haven't heard a word back over the last couple of weeks. I can't believe that many guitarists use this option so frequently that it needs to be available on every page, and to obnoxiously move around the screen.

I'm really hoping I can grab someone's ear with this complaint, since the design fix is very simple, and I imagine more and more users are going to be using the website on tablet computers. The lack of response from GuitarTricks.com is a little discouraging.

I second the motion. There's nothing in the Facebook/Tweet that I need to see and it blocks the right side of the screen.

Hi as a new user I'm still trying to find best ways to get around in the lessons but I'd agree the Twitter bar is a distraction. Don't need it at all in my case but if others use it could it be as a drop-down up in a top menu bar somewhere?

Thanks for letting us know. We'll take a look. We hadn't tested it with a tablet, should have thought of that.

kerrysnow,
We respond to all email, so we're not sure how we missed the earlier message about this. Did you use the site contact form or reply to a welcome email, or?

We've disabled the twitter bar on all pages except the home page. That should fix things for you for now.

Separately, we plan to look into other ways we can provide those links that will be less obtrusive.

Have fun.

Jon, I used the "contact us" link to send my email message.

Thanks for the quick response, here, though. Your quick action to solve the problem is greatly appreciated. I'm a big fan of the site and have recommended it to several friends.

While we're on the subject, I sometimes stop the video to see where the instructors fingers are. When you stop the video, the big red pick-shaped "Play" button obscures the instrucor's fret hand. That can usually be moved via CSS styling (I'm a software guy). Maybe you could move it to the bottom somewhere? Or a corner?

Thanks,

Bret
