First of all for his time eddie Van Halen was an innovater and if not for him a lot of the sounds we got today wouldn't exist. The most overated gutarist would have to be Zakk Wylde. Although good he goes off of everybody else's stuff.

Zakk is god, I wholeheartedly agree. If you are gonna pick on an overrated guitarist, pick on that fag from limp bizkit. When I was reading an old guitar magazine and I came across an article entitled the best 100 guitarists of the century and that little fag from Limp Bizkit was in there. I felt like puking. !!

I didn't say he sounded like ****. He's got good tone, not as good as Adam Jones. I had the privalige of seeing him live with Ozzy and with his band, but I just cant see how anything he does sets him far ahead of everyone else. He is up there though don't get me wrong just a little too worshipped. I do want to get a bullseye guitar though. Other overrated guitarist would have to be that guy from Creed he's decent but the singer brings the whole band down. Also, The Slipknot guys their first album was alright Their new **** sounds terrible and I see these guys on the cover of Guitar world they could've saved it for somebody else.

Now why the heck would you say that Hendrix is overated? If i am not mistaking he was the most innovative guitarist ever. IMHO he is better than anyone playing.. and he died at 27.

Its all opinion though. Some people think hes great, some think hes overrated, some think both.

Zakk is very good, but I listened to Ozzy's live cd and he uses the same note in every song after playing the original chords, which gets anoying. Other than that he is the great.
