Grand Funk Railroad was Mark Farner (guitar, electric piano, and vocals), Mel Shacter (bass and vocals), and Don Brewer (drums and vocals). Mark used to play a Gretsh Rock Jet (Les Paul type) and swing it around his head while he was playing the solo for "Inside Lookin' Out" with only his left hand. Their big hit from the early era was "I'm Your Captain/Closer To Home" from the "Closer To Home" album.
"Mean Mistreater", "Limousine Driver", "TNUC", "Hooked On Love" and "Mark Says Alright" were great songs from this period. Probably their best stuff was on the "Survival" album, with "I Can Feel Him In The Morning" and the version of "Gimme Shelter" that the Stones only wish they could have done.
Ahh... memories....... :)
