I am a very beginner guitar player, and am having trouble with the scales. There is a "C scale" that has 17 notes in it according to scale finder, but then there is also the C scale that has 8 notes in it in Christopher Schlegel's lesson "Scales and chords relationship #1". That is the do re me fa so la te do. I didn't know how to play that, though i know how to play the C scale according to scale finder. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out which is which...

Hi
The 17 notes C scale in the scale finder is just the C scale (8 notes) being played twice in two different octaves.

You probably are already doing those videos but I suggest you take a look at the guitar fundementals videos in the core learning system. All that stuff is very well explained there. If you already are looking at them, in a couple of videos you would have found the answer of your question today :)

Have fun with your learning.

Thank you so much! I don't know how I could have missed that... I guess I just thought that it was all the same. Anyway, thanks a ton, I went back to those lessons and it was all right there.
