Fat Fingers?
I just started playing and am having difficulty playing chords because my finger seems too big. I can bend the string a little so I don't contact the lower string, but I'm wondering if this is bad technique and there is some other way to avoid the other string.

Hi Joe,
It's a common problem. Bending the string is not the best way to go. You may find it easier to be accurate as your skill grows. But a guitar with wider spacing can be helpful.

Hi Joe,
When you have been playing for a while, you will develop callouses on the end of your fingers, that means it will be the tips of the callouses which will be hitting the strings and not the flesh of your fingers.
Also there are various ways of playing the different chords.
Good luck
Pete
