Does anyone use a GNX4? I have had it for awhile and have not figured out half of what it can do. I like it for recording or playing with headphones on. However playing through my amp, the sound really sucks. I have a Pevey classic 30. Any one have any ideas how to get a decent tone from this thing?

Hello,
I have a digitech RP-2000 and have occasionally used it though amps over the years. Your processor is essentially a pre-amp and when used through a guitar amplifier the best thing you can do to get a "pure" tone is to go from your GNX (left out) to the effects return of your amp. This should bypass the preamp section of your guitar amp. If it's not possible to do this then plug the GNX into the clean channel of your amp. If your amps' clean channel also has a gain setting; keep the gain low and use the master volume to increase loudness. Hope this helps.
sincerely,
Doug

Glad that helped you out. Although I'm not familiar with Godsmack; I'm sure there are many members on this site who could help you with their tone.
sincerely,
Doug

Peavey has a computer program out that will run through your amplifiers and turn it into anything you want including changing tube amp voltages and even moving the cone anywhere in the box you want. Its a little over 200 bucks and it will model virtually any amp ever built including custom jobs you want to make. The program is called "Revalver". If you search : peavey computer modulators you will find it at the top of the list. Its a great buy and I reccomend it to anybody who wants to create their own sound.
