You may only have needed a smaller scale on your guitar neck assuming your hands are small.
If your talking about one of those miniature 3/4 size or half size guitars then you probably won't get the best tone from then.
Next time you look into buying a guitar, find out the scale length and figure out which will best suit you for your hand size. :)

The best bet to find out about the neck size, fret spacing, etc. is to visit your local instrument shop and speak to a knowledgable person. It helps when you are able to hold a product in your hands to help you decide what's best for your playing style, hand size, etc. too.
