upgrade to floyd rose?

i have a yamaha eg-112 guitar with a vintage tremelo, and i was wondering if it would be worthwhile to replace it with a floyd rose or if i'd be wasting time and money, i know its a cheap guitar but i grow attached to things and i'd like to improve it if i can, any advice would be welcome.

It's kind of a reletive question. Generally speaking the trem and then service to install it would be worth more than the guitar. Most folks would not consider it wise from an investment stand point. However, it could be worth it both for the education and because you are attached to the guitar. I do the same kinds of things, so in that sense, go for it. :)

If you are simply having some tuning problems, try a set of Sperzel locking tuners. It was effective on my HW1.
