I always think it's funny when non-guitar players ask me, "so, do you play acoustic or electric guitar. That always makes me chuckle, because they are both guitars, and basically the exact same thing. You fingers will get much stronger playing acoustic though :) Have fun and practice a lot. The beginning is a steep learning curve, but so worth it once you learn how to play chords and everything.
