Was working online to learn a few songs for an important family event, and responded to a banner ad offering:

Learn to play "Chloroform Perfume" with online video lessons

Followed the link, looked at demo, etc and signed up. And, much to my disappointment, that song, and the few others I needed to learn, produce no results when searching. I understand that advertising has limitations, and technology is not perfect, but this is simply a misleading banner ad. I run and advertising agency, and see plenty of examples of (un)truth in advertising, but somehow got fooled...

So Guitar Tricks, I suggest you limit the "Tricks" aspect of your business to the fretboard and clean up your advertising act. Now I will vote with my fingers and cancel my trial subscription before I have to start paying for that which I am not getting. Too bad... looks like this has great potential.

I'm sorry you feel duped by the advertising. I'm not associated to GT other than a dedicated subscriber thus, I can't speak to it.

What I can say thought; as a subscriber I've been here for 2-1/2 years now and I've been undeniably pleased with what this site has to offer. The lesson videos are clear, to the point and really get you learning. The subscriber forums that you get access to are hugely valuable in furthering your learning by having direct access to the instructors. That's not to say they don't visit the open area of the forum.

From one subscriber to another. If your goal is to "learn to play guitar", then stick around. You will be very pleased at the debts of knowledge and learning capabilities you will find here.

Best of luck!

That the "Trick" wasn't in the "Learn to Play" part of your search?
