Hi guys, I'm new here and just recently started taking lessons. I'm 40 years old and got short fingers. My question is: is there neck profile/lenght more suited for me or does this matters at all? Will appreciate your help very much. thanks!

Always get a guitar built for a small person or child.. but if your hands are anything like mine, you will actually get used to those chords that require stretching and won't even notice before long... it's just like a gymnast... the more they loosen up and practice the more flexible they become.

I used to be hung up on that. I have shorter fingers than you (I'm willing to bet!) and logic told me to focus on 24 3/4 scale guitars.

Now after a while I don't really notice much difference between scales despite the fact that I know there is about a 1/4" difference from 2nd to 7th fret between a LP and a Strat. The Strat definitly feels roomier, though. In a good way. :)

Play what your heart desires most.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
