I haven't done any recording in awhile and was wondering if anyone knew what program I should use?

I had used Cool Edit Pro 2.0 for years but it does not work well with windows 7. Anyone have any info on this subject? Should I use cakewalk or sonar? What is the closest program to Cool edit?
