Couldn't find the homepage for Digidesign, but the Fractal Audio Axe FX sounds very cool! Cost may seem expensive, but considering high end pedals can be $300-$500 its not going to take too many additions to your pedalboard to equal the cost of the rack. Interesting how we are coming full circle and then some... 70's and early 80's were all about the pedals, late 80's/early 90's racks were THE thing to have, now we've gone back to pedals, now racks are getting interest again... but yeah, something like the Axe Fx is going to give you a very deep & wide palette from which to draw from.
